SO2R Box Manual V1.3

This is the version 1.3 manual.  It is also included in the V1.3 software.

SO2R Box Firmware V1.2

This is the version 1.2 firmware.

If you are upgrading to V1.3 from an older version install the V1.3 software first and then use it to install the V1.2 firmware.  If the V1.2 firmware is already installed there is no reason to re-install it.

SO2R Box EXTFSK DLL V1.1

SO2R Box Silkscreen

This is the silkscreen of the PC board showing all parts numbers and pads.  It may be easier to find a part on the silkscreen than on the actual PC board.

SO2R Box Manual V1.2

This is the version 1.2 manual.  It is also included in the V1.2 software.

SO2R Box Manual V1.1

This is the version 1.1 manual.  It is also included in the V1.1 software.

SO2R Box Manual V1.0-2

This is the version 1.0-2 manual.  It fixes the error in the V1.0 manual where the DIN plug numbering was incorrect which resulted in the microphone connection wiring being backwards.

SO2R Box Firmware V1.1-1

This is the version 1.1-1 firmware.  It is the same as V1.1 except that it has a fix for a problem where some SO2R Boxes occasionally go into bootloader mode (flashing lights) when powered up.

SO2R Box Firmware V1.1-0

This is the version 1.1 firmware.  It is required in order to use the new features in the version 1.1 SO2R Box software.

SO2R Box Firmware v1.0-0

This is the initial release firmware.

SO2R Box Construction V1.0

The original posting of the instructions.  Jerry, K0TV made some suggestions which were incorporated into V1.1 of the construction instructions.

Virtual COM Port Drivers

This is a short paper which describes available virtual COM port drivers and makes recommendations as to which to use.

SO2R Box Presentation

This is the presentation given at the April, 2009 YCCC meeting. It outlines many of the features of the box.

SO2R Box Schematic

This is the schematic of the production units. It is version 1.9.7. It contains the microphone wiring correction - previous versions have an error in the DIN plug numbering.

SO2R Box Notes

This describes the box, the features, the native USB commands, and the commands supported through the interface program. No drivers are needed to communicate directly via USB and it can be done in many languages including C++, C#, or Visual Basic.

Bootloader

This is the bootloader firmware. It must be loaded into the microprocessor using an external programmer. Once this is loaded the program jumper and SO2R Box utility can be used to install the SO2R Box firmware.

Combined Firmware

This is the SO2R Box bootloader and V1.0-0 firmware in one file. This contains a complete image for an 18F4550.  It provides one-step loading using an external programmer.  The firmware can be updated to the latest version without using the program jumper.
